Finally Back

after 2 years from my last post here, I get to know a group of crazy women who are soon to be wives.... we share lots of things regarding our weddings.... and even remind me that I still have a blog to maintain....

So sorry for those who visit this blog and those who don't. I will start to post in my nonsense travelling photos again.

After Perth, there are other places that I went in these 2 years such as Hong Kong in 2010, Bali in Jan 2011. Not sure if I have left out any other places. Anyway, I will be going to TaiChung on 1st April and Puket on 8th April. Followed by Yogyakarta in May 2011. Wish me luck that no more disasters will come =_=

Take care everyone =)

My First Movie

This video happens because I bought a bear from Sasa. This is not ordinary bear, inside the bear there is a eco bag. I find the bear not only cute but also useful. When the eco bag is taken out, the bear can be hang on the bag as a decoration. So I bought one for my sister, one for my cousin's girlfriend and one for myself.

I brought the bear to my office to show my friends (trying to show off huh) hehe..... Then when my other friends were chatting, I play with my bear. Hong saw what I was doing, fast went to find a digital camera and ask me to do again. So this is how this video is made.

On that day, we also make a happy birthday clip for "Big Potato". Hope that she will love the special gift we had for her.

After showing this to my sister, she is suggesting maybe I can make a similar clip for my wedding. Film it myself whahahahaha So please enjoy this and let me have some feedback. Thank you

Thanks Hong for the help in making this video.

Last Day in Perth

Today is the last day already, it is also my BIL birthday. So the rule of the day will be NO CHEAP FOOD

We check out from the hotel and leave the bags with the reception and head to our first stop of the day.

Our first stop of the day is the Fremantle Market. I am being told that this market will only be crowded during weekends, but the day we went is Friday and the rain keeps comes and goes. Didn't see many people there but the restaurants are packed.

The wind is so strong till my face got hit by the sand at the shore. (so painful lo!!!)

Our purpose to Fremantle is not to the market, our aim is actually the SEAFOOD! Fremantle is by the seaport. It used to have (or still have) fishermen parked their boats there. So they are very well-known for their seafood, very fresh and at reasonable price. Of course, we have to go there and try ma.

There are this restaurant that is very famous for its fish & chips, Cicerello's. But my boi brought us to another place call Kailis' Fish Market. The reason given by my boi is that he finds Cicerello's is too well-known to tourists until it had become very commercial. As for Kailis', the food there will be better and not so commercial. So Kailis, here we come!!! Lolx........ See the board below, it says Voted the Best Fish 'N' Chips

Look at our faces and the amount of food we had on the table. I will intro everything to you. The dishes we had for 4 adults and 1 child. We had 3 seafood platters, 1 plate of fresh cooked prawns, 1/2 dozen of oysters, 1 fish 'n' chips, 1 lobster bistro and 1 fresh cooked lobster. We spend AUD 200 plus for all the mentioned above. Cheap or Expensive, I let you guys judge. Is the amount of food enough for all of us? Of course enough la.

I had to let you guys know that the seafood there is damm fresh lo. The highlight is the oyster: I am a seafood person, but I don't really like the taste of the oysters when I had them in Singapore. The one I had in Perth had changed the taste impression I had for oysters. It doesn't have the fishy smell and the taste does not stay in your mouth for very long.

There is another thing I like to bring it up, it is the squid. It is very 'Q' and the way they cooked it is very tasty. It must be tried. Really really lo.............

This is the first time I had seafood, very fresh seafood for breakfast. So spoiling wor, Lolx
Here comes the next spoiling event, SHOPPING!!!

We suppose to go to the Nike Factory but when we reach that place we found out that it had closed and shifted to another place. So we headed to the mall. Don't miss taken, I didn't buy this cap. So wear for fun. hehe......Do I look like the London Soldier?

It is not a very big mall but the items sold there is very reasonable. I bought a Nike water bottle for my cousin for AUD 5.00 and 2 T-shirts for AUD 30.00. Oh ya, even though the weather is very cold, I still bought a bowl of snow ice for desert lol. (so long time no eat liao, felt very shiok lo)

At about 4.30 p.m., we end our shopping and head back to the city to return our car.

In Perth City, there are buses provided around the corner that are free. So we took the bus to the center of city for last minute shopping and wait for dinner. On the bus, we found an auntie with a plastic bag. She was sifting something in the bag that we think it should be glue. Out of no choice, we alighted the bus even before we got to the center of the city but luckily not too far away.

The location for the night dinner is a bit further away from the City, so we decided to set off to the restaurant earlier. There are a few places we went past which I find it very interesting.
Number One: The Train Station
You can actually take the train down to Fremantle we had went in the morning. Doesn't it look like the train station in the movie "Harry Potter"?

Don't know what is this statue for but I find it very interesting. Tell you something happen when we are taking this picture. Of course, we didn't shout when we are taking this photo but there is some people nearby shouting. Not sure they are shouting for themselves or us. But it make us so embarrassing.

The atmosphere created by the weather is so good, it makes me feel so good. I miss the day boi and I went to buy dinner for the rest, he just hold my hand and we stroll down the street and enjoy the environment. No wonder the Caucasian are so romantic la, they are affected by the weather ma. Asian so hot, how to be romantic. =p

Here is the place for dinner. "Hogs Breath Cafe"

This is the far view of the entrance.

Close up view of the main door with my BIL.

My good friend, Hong told me to try the brew of Perth, Beez Neez. It is a very light type of beer, known to be make with honey. I am not really a beer person, I can say that after finish that bottle I am not sick of it. So you can try it, it is really light.

There is also Hog's Breath in Singapore, but they do not serve garlic bread if you did not order it. In Perth, they just serve their specialty to you. It is very crispy and the garlic and butter spread is delicious.

We order one chicken chop, two steak and a kid meal for my cousin. The portion is too big until I can't finish mine. For my dear friend, you will know how big is it when I can't finish it.

When it is about to set off to the airport, the sky started to rain again. So we decided to call for a maxi cab for the 5 of us to go to the hotel first to pick up our bags the set off to the airport. Along the way to the hotel, the driver pointed to us that there is a drunken man on the engine cover of the car in the middle of the street. My last day in Perth seems so happening with all these.

When the clock strike twelve, we are on the plane heading back to Singapore. Nothing happens on the plane except zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

- The End -

Perth City and Not Perth City

Today is 10th September 2009 (Rainy). My brother- in- law (BIL) woke up early to make breakfast for all of us. Thanks to the hotel's stove, my BIL prepared our favourite, sunny side up, sausages and bacon. Last but not the least, my favourite Milo too. Lol >.< even my breakfast is smiling. =)

After a heavy breakfast, we wash up and head to our destination, Caversham Wildlife Park. It is about half an hour to an hour drive, near perth city but not very near. Along the way, I saw this traffic light. A very special one that cannot be found in Singapore. The special thing about this traffic light is the left portion for bicycle. Cute right?

The main entrance of the park. We need to go into the shop to buy entrance tickets for about AUD 20 plus for adults as for children (erm.......... I forgotten about the price)

This is the first "animal" I saw in the wildlife park, the white bird.

The rain kept come and go. We walk a few steps and the sky started to rain, so we get shelter under the tree to wait for it to stop. The waiting time is about 5 minutes, then we continue the journey for about 10 minutes, the rain comes again. Hai~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Photo taken while waiting for the rain. I am waiting and so is the peacock behind me. Another photo with the bird (so scare it will run over)

The really first animal we saw in the park is the Kangaroo. There is actually this big enclosed area for the Kangaroos for they to run about and lazed around. We got to know that the baby kangaroo will stay in the mum's pouch for about 8 months and will stay by the mother's side for about 2 years.

This baby seems like searching for something inside. Toys? Food?

They are harmless but some just don't let you touch them. Luckily we found one that is friendly. They are so like soft toys, so want to hug them tightly Lol

Boi found a big bin with lots of food for the kangaroos. It is all dry food, just like what my dog is eating. It is actually no smell but when you got it out from the bin, a lot of them will just crowd around you to ask for food. In this photo, the kangaroo is impatient for the food so he/she climb on my body. I think the OS he got is "come on, give me some food, give me lots of food, faster"

Oh ya, the bin cover has a spring attached to it. This is to prevent the kangaroos to get the food by themselves. By the way, the food for the kangaroos are free. I took a few close up with them, isn't them cute.

Here I intro, this is wombat. Don't see him fat fat, he can run 40km per hour.
They have a few time slots to bring the wombat out for photo shooting. He is just like a big soft toy to me.

And this is the tasmania devil, look very different from the one at Warner Bros.

This sleepy fellow is the weasel. We are not allow to carry him because he is a meat eater, meaning will be a bit violent. The keeper afraid that he might hurt us. The keeper tried to bring him out for photo shooting but the weasel is very tired already, I think he is affected by the weather. So no choice la, we have to take his picture in the keeper's jacket.

There is a small farm in the wildlife park for farm animals. Food for the animals are also provided in the shed for us to feed them. We spend a long while in the farm to wait for the rain to stop and taking the time we had, we know a couple of them quite well.

First, I want to intro my best friend in the wildlife park, Pepper. Pepper is a pig aka sore. The keeper in the farm had told us Pepper gave birth to 12 piglets a year ago and the piglets are given away to other parks. Even though the piglets are given away so long time ago, Pepper is very careful when she stand up or sit down. To her, she thinks that the piglets are still with her. I find it very sad when I heard this, so pity her.

She has very good smell. When we throw dried food to her, she can actually smell in out from the soil. And I can prove that pig is not a stupid animal, they are actually very clever. When we call out her name, she actually respond to you by a "oink"

Next will be the donkey. I don't know his gender, but I call it a he. He is very cute when his mouth is closed but when he open it, oh my god, his mouth is so big lo. Then the teeth is stuck with all the vegetables he ate. Eeeeeeeee!!!!!

The way to feed this donkey is to throw the food into his mouth. It seems like playing some games in the fair. hahaha

The keeper went to carry a lamb to show us. This baby is so cute. When I was carrying him, I feel like I am actually carrying a soft toy because the fur is so soft.

The way it look at the camera, it seems like it is smiling to the camera. Cheesez!!!

Last but not the least, the sheep. We are being told that one of the sheep's eye is blind. Therefore when he eats, he will tilt his head sideway in order to see the food.

Finally reach the final destination of the park to meet the very special species of bear, the Kola Bear. It's chinese name is "Wu Wei Xiong" meaning the Bear without a tail. We have stayed in the cage of theirs for quite a long time because it is raining heavily outside. We took the time we had and took a lot of pictures with them but most of the time they are asleep. Even if they are awake, it is just for awhile.

For example: woke up > yawn > sleep OR woke up > climb to another branch (about 5 steps away) > sleep

We are told not to touch them with our palm, but by using the back of the hand. This is to avoid the oil we produce to stick to their fur. We are also not allowed to carry them as this will shorten their lives by 5 years.

Before we leave the park, we went to the restroom to release ourselves and also to wash our hands. My sis noted the signs on the restroom doors are very interesting. The signs provided is not only in human forms but also in animals. From the first one on the left, is a mouse with a lady hat. Next to it is the gentleman with a hat.

This is a mouse on the wheelchair.

Picture taken outside the park, on the way to the carpark.

Picture of our lunch.
Items: chicken rice, tom yam soup, fried rice, Yeo's drinks.

Second stop of the day. We went to the city of Perth to do some window shopping. Not a nice weather to shop because the place is not fully sheltered, the rain keeps come and go.

My sis didn't feel very well in the evening. So sis, my bil and my cousin went back to the hotel for a rest while boi and I went to packet dinner back. We didn't had the dinner after we got back the hotel, instead we went out for shopping at the suburb. No photos were taken; reason: heavy rain, too busy shopping, and tired.

We had Boost at the suburb, the price is about AUD 5.00 to AUD 6.00 which I find it slightly cheaper than the Boost in Singapore. The Boost at Perth is like the bubble here, it seems like very cheap and everyone has a cup in their hands.

After shopping, we went to back hotel for our Roast Duck Rice Dinner. Yum Yum

Then have to wait for the clock to strikes twelve.

Dong! Dong! Dong! It is 11th September.
Today is my BIL's birthday, boi secretly bought a cake for him from Miss Maud.

We sing the birthday song.

BIL make a wish.

BIL cut cake.

We ate the cake.

Bom! We laid on our bed and went to our dream...........................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
